Silly and Sacred
|OFF OUR ROCKER
Making merry with two college bandmates from the mid-1960s at UNC-Chapel Hill, I sing harmony here for our second CD. Released in November 2008, it’s an all-Beatles collection called The Blue Album, a Carolina blue take-off on the legendary White Album of 1968.
Bill Guy and John Yelverton had arranged a weekend reunion after I finished the King trilogy in 2006. We revived our songs from the British invasion, and had so much fun that we stayed up all night recording in Bill’s spare bedroom. Our new group of seniors, OFF OUR ROCKER, released a debut CD called OverTime that sold dozens of copies.
We have fun. You’ll be surprised by the sound. Click below to hear samples from both CDs.

|BROWN MEMORIAL CHANCEL CHOIR
I am a chorister in the tenor section at Brown Memorial Park Avenue Presbyterian Church in Baltimore. On May 17, 2009, we performed Felix Mendelssohn’s oratorio “Elijah” with celebrated guest organist Frederick Swann and soloists drawn mainly from the Peabody Conservatory. It was a thrill for me to be part of such glorious music.
Our church has preserved the “Elijah” performance in a high-quality 3-CD set.
